Inspections

We carry out regular inspections of dams associated with the visual inspection and specialized measurements. The frequency of inspections depends on the category of dams. The subject of our interest is especially seepage regime and deformation of the dam and its foundation.

We monitor the seepage regime by measuring the turbidity of seepage and drainage outlet drains, the cracks and expansion joints, measurement of the levels in observation wells, measuring pressures in the wells and pore pressure transducers. We also use crackmeters, clinometers, and measurements of borehole inclinometer, extensometers, pendulums and geodetic methods, such as very precise leveling and trigonometric measurement. For inspection of inaccessible locations such as wells and drains, we use special inspection cameras.
