Iraq Business Day took place on September 3rd 2012 in Brno. Ninawa province delegation has met and discussed possibilities of investing in Iraq with Czech companies and universities. We had the opportunuty to be there as a member of CREA Hydro&Energy cluster.

During June 2012 in co-operation with GTC Kappelmeyer GmbH we have installed a Fibre Optical Leakage Detection System at the upper reservoir of the Dlouhe Strane Pumped Storage Power Plant. The system is functional and helps to localize possible leakages close to the intake structure.

At the moment one of our employees is in Kurdistan as a member of the CREA consultation team. Four new earthfill dams are under construction. Consultation team representatives are daily present on the sites and share their experiences with local engineers. Apart from that a workshops on different topics are held for wider discussion and explanations. The fact that consultation contracts have been extended, shows satisfaction with CREA consultation team.
 

A Meeting of Czech dams operator staff took place on April 23^rd- 25^th 2012 in hotel Bezděz, Doksy, nothern Bohemia.

Three main topics were discussed, concerning extreme flood routing, rehabilitations and dam safety instrumentation.

A technical tour on the last day was done, participants visited the Mlýnice dam, where an extreme flood has occured in 2010, and the Witka dam in Poland, which has breached due to this flood.
